The Hotel is situated 10 miles from Abergavenny where the A40 and the A465 meet. This is also the nearest railway station. There is no public transport to Llanthony, the nearest bus stop is in Llanfihangel Crucorney, 6 miles away. This is also the nearest shop and garage and the last chance to stock up before entering the valley. The road from Llanfihangel to Llanthony is quite narrow and winding but not as narrow as the road that continues from the hotel over the mountain to Hay-on-wye.
